As toddlers transition into this exciting new phase of development, they become much more mobile, learning to navigate the world on their own two feet. In this classroom, we celebrate this newfound independence by providing ample opportunities for movement and exploration. Whether they’re taking their first tentative steps or confidently running across the room, our little ones are encouraged to move, play, and explore to their heart’s content.

One of the highlights of this classroom is our emphasis on outdoor learning. Our dedicated educators guide children through the early stages of potty training, drinking from a cup without a lid, and using utensils a mealtime, instilling independence and self-confidence in each child. Through engaging activities and hands-on experiences, we foster imaginative play and cultivate essential life skills that will serve them well in preschool and beyond.

Communication is at the heart of our approach in Taurus. We introduce feelings words and emotions, teaching children to express themselves in healthy and constructive ways. Led by our team of amazing preschool teachers, children in Ursa Minor Preschool 1 embark on a journey of exploration and discovery. At Little Stars Preschool, we understand that the transition to Kindergarten is a significant milestone in every child’s journey. That’s why we’ve dedicated our Pre-K Plus classroom as the final stepping stone before Kindergarten, carefully crafting a program that blends learning through play with intentional instruction to best prepare students for the exciting adventures ahead.

Children are immersed in a dynamic and engaging environment where learning is a joyful and enriching experience. With a focus on building strong relationships and nurturing social-emotional development, we guide students through the process of understanding and managing their emotions, working through conflicts, and developing empathy for others. We introduce calming techniques and provide a supportive environment where children feel safe and supported to express themselves authentically.

Our focus goes beyond social-emotional development. We are committed to ensuring that every child is academically prepared for Kindergarten and beyond. Through individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs and interests, we introduce a wide range of learning concepts, from pre-reading and reading, to writing and more advanced math concepts. By the time students graduate from our program, they are equipped with the skills and confidence they need to excel in Kindergarten.

We understand the challenges that parents/guardians face when school is out, which is why we are thrilled to offer our School-Aged Hub program. Currently open to siblings (K-5th) of enrolled preschool students, this program is designed to be a haven of fun and safety during school closings and breaks.

Our School-Aged Hub is more than just a place for children to go when school is closed - it’s a community where friendships are created, memories are made, and children can continue to learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment. Whether it’s a snow day, a teacher workday, or summer break, parents/guardians can rest assured knowing that their children are in good hands.

During school closures (not all, but some), our dedicated school aged team lead a variety of engaging activities and educational experiences designed to keep children entertained. From arts and crafts to outdoor games and science experiments, there’s always something exciting happening in the Hub!
