early preschool
(2–3 Years Old)
(Milford campus – children may begin as early as 18 months)
Our Early Preschool program is designed to support children as they transition from toddlerhood into more independent learners. This stage is full of rapid growth, curiosity, and confidence-building, and our intentional approach ensures each child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally. With small class sizes of 10–12 students, children receive the individualized attention they need while enjoying the benefits of a classroom community.
Building Independence & Confidence
Early Preschool focuses on helping children develop independence and essential life skills in a nurturing, supportive environment. Teachers guide children through daily routines, decision-making, and self-help skills that promote confidence and self-esteem.
Potty Training as a Partnership
Potty training in Early Preschool is a natural extension of what families are already working on at home. Our teachers partner closely with parents to provide consistency, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. Children are supported at their own pace, helping them feel successful and confident throughout the process.
Intentional Learning & Development
Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support all areas of development, including:
Sign Language: Continued use of sign language supports communication, reduces frustration, and enhances language development.
Communication & Speech Development: Teachers model language, encourage conversation, and support expressive and receptive language growth throughout the day.
Gross & Fine Motor Skills: Activities like climbing, running, cutting, drawing, and building strengthen coordination, control, and confidence.
Early Math Concepts: Through play-based activities, children are introduced to counting, sorting, patterns, shapes, and early problem-solving skills.
Life Skills Development: Children practice skills such as following routines, cleaning up, taking turns, listening, and working cooperatively with peers.
Learning Through Play
Play remains at the heart of learning in Early Preschool. Through hands-on activities, creative exploration, music, movement, and social play, children build skills in ways that feel natural, engaging, and fun.
Early Preschool (Taurus) follows a structured school-day schedule that includes circle time and morning meeting, along with a full day of engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. Children enjoy a daily rest period from 1:00–3:00 PM.
