Our Story
Every great dream starts with a simple idea and for the Sonntag family, that idea started with a deep love for family and community.
For years, the Sonntag family dreamed of creating a preschool that felt different. A place that combined the warmth of home with the intention of high-quality early childhood education. A place where children could be truly known, families could feel confident and supported, and educators could do the work they love.
That dream became Little Stars Preschool.
Entrepreneurship has always been part of who we are. Mike and Denise Sonntag carried a strong passion for building something meaningful—something that would serve families while creating a lasting, positive impact in the community.
At the same time, Deandra and Michael followed their hearts into early childhood education, earning degrees in the field and spending several years working hands-on in classrooms. Through those experiences, they saw firsthand what worked, what didn’t, and (most importantly) what children truly need in their earliest years.
Together, our family shared one vision: to create a preschool that blended educational expertise with genuine care, where children are nurtured as individuals and families feel like partners, not customers.
Little Stars Preschool opened its doors just before the world changed in ways no one could have anticipated. Like so many small businesses, we navigated the uncertainty of a global pandemic, by leaning on one another, adapting daily, and staying committed to children and families.
Through those challenges, Little Stars didn’t just survive. We grew!
Over the past five years, we’ve continued to learn, develop, and strengthen our program, always guided by the same values we started with: small class sizes, individualized care, and relationships built on trust and love.
None of this would be possible without the incredible families who have trusted us with their children and the devoted educators who pour their hearts into our classrooms every day. Your support, belief, and partnership have shaped Little Stars into what it is today.
We are endlessly thankful for our teachers, who love this work as much as we do, and for our families, who allow us to be part of such a meaningful season of life.
Little Stars Preschool remains proudly small, locally owned, and family-run. We continue to grow with intention, never losing sight of why we started. Our promise is simple: to create a nurturing, joyful environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, and shine.
What began as a family dream has become a community of little learners, loving educators, and supportive families and we are absolutely honored to welcome each new child into our story.
✨ Whether you are stopping by for the very first time, or trusting us daily, thank you for being part of the Little Stars family.
